Nvidia’s 3D Vision shutter glasses are awesome, no doubt about it, BUT…
I’ve managed to control my negative emotions regarding the lack of driver support for my old Elsa 3D Revelator glasses. It’s also OK that the prize for the new 3D Vision glasses is pretty high. Face Recognition for Linux haven’t been available on Linux yet. Sure – there are some ready-to-use libs, but that’s interesting for developers only. When it came to ready-to-use applications, you only could choose between MacOS or Windows. (Excuse me, but face recognition at Google’s PicasaWeb Album is a bit too spooky for me and I won’t upload 100GB of photographs)

GoogleMaps version 3.0 and higher won’t install onto Windows Mobile 2003 any longer. And that’s a pity, since the old devices like e.g. the HTC magician is a good companion for cycling.
The statement, that it doesn’t work took me a while to figure out. If you download a new GoogleMaps version (as of now 3.0.1.6) from e.g. Softpedia, C|NET or ZDNET, you will see a error message if you try to install this .CAB file onto your PDA running Windows Mobile 2003. But all of them claim, this version (3.0.1.6) is meant to be for Windows Mobile 2003 also. Continue reading ‘New GoogleMaps not for Windows Mobile 2003′
