[solved] ath5k missing on Intrepid Ibex after upgrade

Today I’ve upgraded my Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex onto 2.6.27-11-14 and lost my perfectly working ath5k wireless driver for my Abit PCI-E Wi-Fi Card.
I’ve added this driver manually before, by installing linux-backports-modules-intrepid. But the dirver is gone today.
Reading a lot I’ve found only one working solution for me: I’ve installed them from source. This is a small HowTo on how to do it:

Nvidia 180.35 released: VC-1 surprice!

Nvidia released on 24th, of February their new Nvidia driver for Linux. The version 180.35 is a real surprise, since it is said to support now all Nvidia gfx cards starting with the 8 series regarding the VC-1 and WMV playback. The release note states also a few major fixes are fixed regarding malicious and/or interlaced mpeg streams. Nvidia 180.25 and new mplayer-vdpau released

Nvidia released a new video driver for Linux, the version 180.25 (x86, x86_64).

Howto strip/crop and rename multiple file names in a commad line (Linux)

Today was again the day where I needed to rename over 100 file names of an mp3-collection. And again it took me half an hour to make it work. That’s way I decided to write it down now, so I won’t have to think about it again.

The situation is very simple to explain.
My brother-in-law wanted his legally purchased mp3-collection renamed, because he renamed every single song title to something not very smart before.
